This spring, we’ve rolled out our pilot GET SET Program. Through a series of three courses, we aim equip clients to overcome barriers they face as they work toward stable housing and improved health. Clients and case managers agree that the likelihood of long-term success often improves with increased income, educational credentials, financial literacy, access to home buying resources, or development of new personal skills. As such, we’ve been working with skilled volunteer groups to offer classes that will help clients develop skills and achieve these goals.
We’re excited to see how this pilot program unfolds! Using feedback we receive from participants at the end of each course, we’ll explore areas of improvement and long-term feasibility, so that we can provide ongoing financial literacy course to our clients. We’re also encouraged by the energy of our community partners (shout out to BB&T and Wells Fargo) for the opportunity to offer their financial skills and insights directly to our clients.
